Beloved,
In these 34 years of ministry, we have been appointed servants and witnesses.
But there is something else. Our ministry is a ministry of
“multiplication” by which the gifts of God are multiplied to meet the
needs of more and more people.
When we first began, we bought food at discount. Sometimes we still do…but for
the most part, God has raised up ministry partners who donate the
food and goods we distribute. The money we receive goes to trucks and
refrigeration and fuel to move these blessings to where they are needed.
The past few years have been tough on poor people, but God has moved our
ministry partners to supply tonsof fresh produce, top quality food, in
such abundance that it takes your breath away. When we needed a bigger truck,
or an electric pallet lift, or more fuel for a delivery…God has multiplied our
partners, and moved people to give, to be a part of this ministry…and met each
need.
We are blessed with tons (literally) of food for distribution.
Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as
faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.

We are servants. We are stewards.
We are blessed to be ambassadors of the King who gives gifts…and then multiplies them. And it is marvelous in our sight.

Amados,
En estos 34 años de ministerio, hemos sido nombrados siervos y testigos.
Pero hay algo más. Nuestro ministerio es un ministerio de
"multiplicación" por el cual los dones de Dios se multiplican
para satisfacer las necesidades de más y más personas.
Cuando empezamos, comprábamos comida con descuento. A veces todavía lo
hacemos... pero en su mayor parte, Dios ha levantado socios ministeriales que
donan los alimentos y los bienes que distribuimos. El dinero que
recibimos se destina a camiones, refrigeración y combustible para llevar estas
bendiciones a donde se necesitan.
Los últimos años han sido duros para las personas pobres, pero Dios ha movido a
nuestros socios ministeriales a suministrar toneladas de productos frescos,
alimentos de alta calidad, en tal abundancia que te deja sin aliento.
Cuando necesitábamos un camión más grande, o un montacargas eléctrico, o más
combustible para una entrega... Dios ha multiplicado a nuestros socios y movido
a la gente a dar, a ser parte de este ministerio... y suplió cada necesidad.
Somos bendecidos con toneladas (literalmente) de alimentos para distribuir.
Cada uno de ustedes debe usar cualquier don que haya recibido para servir a los
demás, como fieles administradores de la gracia de Dios en sus diversas formas.
Somos sirvientes. Somos mayordomos.
Somos bendecidos de ser embajadores del Rey que da dones... y luego los multiplica. Y es maravilloso a nuestros ojos.

It seems unbelievable, but we have entered our 35th year of
ministry. Qoheleth is different now than it was when we first
began…and that is worthy of some reflection and thanksgiving.
When we began, I was appointed to serve others in the name of Jesus by
providing for their needs…food and clothing…as a witness of the love of
God. With our serving, we delivered a simple message about the
Gospel, that God through Jesus loved them and cared about their struggles and
their problems, and wanted them to know Him.
In the early days, we raised money to purchase food (at a discount) and took it
to the streets to seek out the poor and to help parents provide for their
children. It was an opportunity to show the love of Jesus rather than just tell
them about it. And people began to respond.
They are still responding, but it is different than when it was just
beginning. In those 34 years, God was changing us, how we think
about him, and how we live our lives. We had no money then…and we
have no money now. But we have 34 years of trusting God to provide
for the ministry, and he has never failed us. As needs have arisen,
God has provided. So we trust him and we continue to grow in trust
and in faith.
We are a faith-based ministry, trusting God to supply the need. But
it is different with the certainty of time, being certain that God hears our
prayers and that God will provide for all of the plans that He approves.
Always. He is faithful. How would we have known, if we had not stepped out and
trusted him.
It changes our testimony, because God is able to do all that he directs; he is
hears our prayers and is willing to provide and to heal; he is eager to have us
seek him and to see for ourselves that God is good.
God called Qoheleth to be a faithful servant. Over time he made us
wise and he increased our faith to trust him more.
“Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in
charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper
time?

Cuando comenzamos, fui designado para servir a los demás en el nombre de Jesús proveyendo para sus necesidades... alimento y vestido... como testimonio del amor de Dios. Con nuestro servicio, entregamos un mensaje simple sobre el Evangelio, que Dios a través de Jesús los amaba y se preocupaba por sus luchas y problemas, y quería que lo conocieran.
En los primeros días, recaudamos dinero para comprar alimentos (con descuento) y lo llevamos a las calles para buscar a los pobres y ayudar a los padres a mantener a sus hijos. Fue una oportunidad para mostrar el amor de Jesús en lugar de simplemente contarles sobre él. Y la gente empezó a responder.
Todavía están respondiendo, pero es diferente a cuando apenas comenzaba. En esos 34 años, Dios nos estaba cambiando, cómo pensamos acerca de él y cómo vivimos nuestras vidas. No teníamos dinero entonces... y no tenemos dinero ahora. Pero llevamos 34 años confiando en Dios para proveer para el ministerio, y nunca nos ha fallado. A medida que surgieron las necesidades, Dios ha provisto. Entonces confiamos en él y seguimos creciendo en la confianza y en la fe.
Somos un ministerio basado en la fe, confiando en Dios para suplir la necesidad. Pero es diferente con la certeza del tiempo, teniendo la certeza de que Dios escucha nuestras oraciones y que Dios proveerá para todos los planes que Él apruebe. Siempre. El es fiel. ¿Cómo lo hubiéramos sabido, si no hubiéramos salido y confiado en él?
Cambia nuestro testimonio, porque Dios es poderoso para hacer todo lo que él manda; él escucha nuestras oraciones y está dispuesto a proveer y sanar; está deseoso de que lo busquemos y de que veamos por nosotros mismos que Dios es bueno.
Dios llamó a Qohelet para que fuera un siervo fiel. Con el tiempo nos hizo sabios y aumentó nuestra fe para confiar más en él.
“¿Quién es, pues, el siervo fiel y prudente, a quien el señor ha puesto sobre los siervos de su casa, para que les dé el alimento a su tiempo?
¿Quién es Qoheleth? Qoheleth es un ministerio de servicio en el nombre de Jesús, para alimentar a los pobres y predicar la cercanía de Dios.

Beloved,
Our focus is on the poor and the lost…so we feed the poor, we proclaim the love
of God and his call to fellowship, and we testify to His faithfulness and his
multiplication of gifts to help.
In the process, God has led us to people who see what we are doing and who want
to partner with us. By serving. By financial
support. By donating and increasing our ability to meet needs.
These are amazing hearts, kindred spirits, who become partners with us in
ministry.
These partners, the ones who ‘get it’, who see the works and desire to be a
part of it…they have become the means by which we can do more. They
are the counselors who offer prayers that we will be discerning, that we will
be patient, that we will be humble as new doors open.
Without them Qoheleth would be unable to grow, unable to find new ways and
places to serve.
In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your
partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of
this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until
the day of Christ Jesus.
I offer prayers for them as well, they are very dear to me, they are precious brothers and sisters who together form Qoheleth. Over these 34 years, I have been humbled by their generosity and their kindness. Qoheleth is not Orlando’s ministry…it is Christ’s, and he calls people to join in this joyful work.
This seems to be God’s plan. He blesses both the giver and the receiver, allowing each to give and to receive with thanks.
For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you.
Yes, you will be enriched in every way so that you can always be generous. And when we take your gifts to those who need them, they will thank God.
The care and spiritual feeding of this group of brothers and sisters is important to our continued existence and to honoring God in new and different works.

Amados,
Nuestro enfoque está en los pobres y los perdidos…así que alimentamos a los pobres, proclamamos el amor de Dios y su llamado a la comunión, y damos testimonio de Su fidelidad y su multiplicación de dones para ayudar.En el proceso, Dios nos ha llevado a personas que ven lo que estamos haciendo y que quieren asociarse con nosotros. Al servir. Por apoyo financiero. Mediante la donación y el aumento de nuestra capacidad para satisfacer las necesidades.
Estos son corazones asombrosos, espíritus afines, que se convierten en socios de nosotros en el ministerio.
Estos socios, los que "lo entienden", que ven las obras y desean ser parte de ellas... se han convertido en los medios por los cuales podemos hacer más. Son los consejeros que ofrecen oraciones para que podamos discernir, que seamos pacientes, que seamos humildes cuando se abren nuevas puertas.
Sin ellos, Qoheleth no podría crecer, no podría encontrar nuevas formas y lugares para servir.
En todas mis oraciones por todos vosotros, oro siempre con gozo por vuestra colaboración en el evangelio desde el primer día hasta ahora, estando convencido de que el que comenzó en vosotros la buena obra, la perfeccionará hasta el día de Cristo Jesús.
Este parece ser el plan de Dios. Bendice tanto al que da como al que recibe, permitiendo que cada uno dé y reciba con agradecimiento.
Porque Dios es quien provee semilla para el agricultor y luego pan para comer. Del mismo modo, proveerá y aumentará vuestros recursos y luego producirá en vosotros una gran cosecha de generosidad.
Sí, serás enriquecido en todos los sentidos para que siempre puedas ser generoso. Y cuando llevemos tus dones a quienes los necesitan, ellos darán gracias a Dios.

Accountability for the gifts of
Qoheleth - serving God alone
Beloved,
Qoheleth has become more and more effective over these 34 years, but it is not
because we are so smart or wise. It is because God has lead us each
day to do and to be what He wants.
Some years ago, a Qoheleth supporter came to me with an unusual proposal:
outside of the ministry, I would receive a salary. As revenues grew
in ministry, there would be no change in my compensation…nothing would be taken
away from the gifts Qoheleth received.
At the time, this was a great blessing because it meant that I would have a
reliable income to support my wife and children: housing, taxes and
bills. What I could not imagine is that over the years of ministry,
it would honor God and the Partners he raised up, because as revenues increased
it would make no difference to me. But the money would go to the
ministries for which it was intended. To buy food, pay for equipment
and repairs, and to bless new partners with an example of how to
serve…transparent and accountable.
Knowing that we are only human, God made it possible to serve him alone…and not
put a finger on the monies of ministry…by separating them. Qoheleth
always knows what is available (trucks, gospels, food), and does not need
to consider how to “make payroll”, but only “what do you want me to do today,
Lord?”.
“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other,
or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both
God and money"

Responsabilidad por los dones de Qohelet: servir solo a Dios
Amados,
Qoheleth se ha vuelto cada vez más efectivo durante estos 34 años, pero no es
porque seamos tan inteligentes o sabios. Es porque Dios nos ha llevado
cada día a hacer y ser lo que Él quiere.
Hace algunos años, un partidario de Qoheleth vino a mí con una propuesta
inusual: fuera del ministerio, recibiría un salario. A medida que
crecieran los ingresos en el ministerio, no habría cambios en mi
compensación... nada se quitaría de los regalos que recibió Qoheleth.
En ese momento, esto fue una gran bendición porque significaba que tendría un
ingreso confiable para mantener a mi esposa e hijos: vivienda, impuestos y
facturas. Lo que no me podía imaginar es que a lo largo de los años de
ministerio, honraría a Dios y a los Socios que él levantó, porque a medida que
aumentaran los ingresos no haría ninguna diferencia para mí. Pero el
dinero iría a parar a los ministerios a los que estaba destinado. Para
comprar alimentos, pagar equipos y reparaciones, y bendecir a nuevos socios con
un ejemplo de cómo servir... transparente y responsable.
Sabiendo que solo somos humanos, Dios hizo posible que le sirviéramos a él
solo... y no poner un dedo en los dineros del ministerio... separándolos.
Qoheleth siempre sabe lo que hay disponible (camiones, evangelios, comida), y no
necesita plantearse cómo “hacer la nómina”, sino sólo “¿qué quieres que haga
hoy, Señor?”.
“Nadie puede servir a dos señores. O aborrecerás a uno y amarás al otro,
o te apegarás a uno y despreciarás al otro. No se puede servir a Dios y
al dinero"

International - prayer of Jabez
Beloved,
I am humbled by what God continues to do with Qoheleth. In other
letters, I shared his faithfulness to provide, his rich blessings, the ministry
partners that were the foundation for our work.
It is a priority that we honor this calling God has given us.
If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach
well.
In the Bible, there is a passage…one line…on someone (Jabez) who called on God to multiply and to grow his work.
Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.
In 34 years I never dreamed that God would apply that blessing to us…but He has. We continue to serve in Orange County with our food distributions. But God has opened other doors as well, adding the distribution of Gospels, encouraging bible study and other gifts for distribution. And then He opened doors to serve in other countries. In Haiti, in Zimbabwe, in Peru, and in Mexico God has given us a roll to play…as servants, helping to meet needs, to encourage His people, and to honor Him in the act of service.
John White extended the invitation to go and serve some years ago. We have had invitations from Pastors here and in Mexico to help with projects and help with various projects. God has enabled us without taking away resources from Qoheleth (other than gas) to do this. (The ministries themselves help to pay for air transport). Who could have imagined this? That a ‘street ministry’ would also help need in other countries and give a message of hope in the name of Jesus.
The Good News cannot be contained in just our neighborhoods. People hear about what God is doing and ask for us to tell them more.
That is the ultimate multiplication…to multiply the good news of God’s love for his people, and to honor the grace that makes us able to share it in new ways and in new places.

Internacional - oración de Jabes
Amados,
Me siento humilde por lo que Dios sigue haciendo con Qoheleth. En otras
cartas, compartí su fidelidad para proveer, sus ricas bendiciones, los
compañeros de ministerio que fueron la base de nuestro trabajo.
Es una prioridad que honremos este llamado que Dios nos ha dado.
Si tu don es servir a los demás, sírvelos bien. Si eres maestro, enseña
bien.
Jabes clamó al Dios de Israel: “¡Oh, si me bendijeras y ensancharas mi territorio! Que tu mano esté conmigo, y guárdame de mal para que esté libre de dolor”. Y Dios concedió su petición.
John White extendió la invitación para ir y servir hace algunos años. Hemos tenido invitaciones de Pastores aquí y en México para ayudar con proyectos y ayudar con varios proyectos. Dios nos ha permitido sin quitar recursos de Qoheleth (aparte del gas) para hacer esto. (Los propios ministerios ayudan a pagar el transporte aéreo). ¿Quién podría haber imaginado esto? Que un 'ministerio de la calle' ayudaría también a la necesidad en otros países y daría un mensaje de esperanza en el nombre de Jesús.
La Buena Nueva no se puede contener solo en nuestros barrios. Las personas escuchan lo que Dios está haciendo y nos piden que les digamos más.
Esa es la máxima multiplicación... multiplicar las buenas nuevas del amor de Dios por su pueblo, y honrar la gracia que nos hace capaces de compartirlo de nuevas maneras y en nuevos lugares.

Blessings received
Beloved,
After 34 years of God’s faithfulness, sometimes people think we must have
money. But we don’t. Our board has become used to the
idea that God wants to do something, but because we have no money we need to
pray and wait on Him to act.
I think it is this that keeps us focused on “God, what do you want to do” and
not on our own plans and decisions.
We need a pallet jack…and in God’s timing, He puts it on someone’s heart to
‘own’ that need, and they provide the means. We needed a
refrigerated truck…and God met the need. We needed warehouse
space…and God met the need.
As we stand today, we have some repairs to the Hino truck (parking lot break
in) and a need for a Transit van. These are things that God put on
our heart, and we are waiting for Him to provide for the need.
In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests
before you and wait expectantly.
It is a matter of priorities, to keep God first and not his blessings…no matter how much we want them. We want to honor God more than we want the things we pray for.
And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.
Please wait with us to see what God will do, and thank him for his endless kindness to each one of us.

Bendiciones recibidas
Amados,
Después de 34 años de la fidelidad de Dios, a veces la gente piensa que debemos
tener dinero. Pero no lo hacemos. Nuestra junta se ha acostumbrado
a la idea de que Dios quiere hacer algo, pero como no tenemos dinero, debemos
orar y esperar que Él actúe.
Creo que es esto lo que nos mantiene enfocados en “Dios, qué quieres hacer” y
no en nuestros propios planes y decisiones.
Necesitamos una transpaleta… y en el tiempo de Dios, Él pone en el corazón de
alguien que se “haga cargo” de esa necesidad, y ellos proveen los medios.
Necesitábamos un camión refrigerado… y Dios suplió la necesidad.
Necesitábamos espacio de almacén... y Dios satisfizo la necesidad.
Tal como estamos hoy, tenemos algunas reparaciones en el camión Hino (lo
estamos reparando) y necesitamos una camioneta Transit. Estas son cosas
que Dios puso en nuestro corazón, y estamos esperando que Él provea para la
necesidad.
Por la mañana, Señor, escuchas mi voz; por la mañana expongo mis peticiones
ante ti y espero expectante.
Es una cuestión de prioridades, de tener a Dios primero y no a sus bendiciones… por mucho que las deseemos. Queremos honrar a Dios más de lo que queremos las cosas por las que oramos.
Y no pongas tu corazón en lo que vas a comer o beber; No se preocupe. Porque el mundo pagano corre tras todas esas cosas, y vuestro Padre sabe que las necesitáis. Mas buscad su reino, y estas cosas os serán dadas también.
Espere con nosotros para ver lo que Dios hará, y agradézcale por su infinita bondad para con cada uno de nosotros.
